Hello HFW Neighbors!
Our Social Committee mission is to create opportunities for neighbors to connect, celebrate and build lasting relationships. We plan and host community events, welcome new residents, and encourage a spirit of friendship and belonging throughout Hutton Farms West. By fostering a warm and inclusive environment, we make our neighborhood, not just a place to live, but a community to call home.
Planning Events
Seasonal events, block parties, holiday gatherings, neighborhood garage sales, supplying food and drinks for our HOA meetings, invitations to Lawrence Community events where we include our neighbors to join and meet as a group.
Welcome Baskets
Our committee welcomes each new neighbor with a basket that’s packed with helpful information, treats, and fun surprises.
Decorations and Beautifying Neighborhood
Our committee works to decorate our neighborhood with seasonal decorations and other ideas to beautify Hutton Farms West.
Organized Clubs and Groups
HFW Book Club

Craft and Chat
A monthly creative arts, crafts, knitting, or anything you want to create group.

D.I.D. pop up parties
Spontaneous “Drinks in the Driveway” get togethers to socialize and get to know your neighbors. BYOB and a chair and get ready to have a fun evening. If you are interested in hosting an event, let us help you promote it! Contact Sally Pokorny (see below)
ROMEOS
“Retired Old Men Eating Out” – a group of neighborhood men meet every 4-6 weeks for breakfast to socialize and solve the world’s problems! Contact: Scott Stacy (text or call 785-550-2656)
American Flag
Donation of the Front Entrance American Flag- every 4-6 months we ask a neighbor to donate the American Flag in honor of a military member or family member. We will help you raise it and tell your story. Contact Patti McCormick (text or call 785-766-4570)
Watch for emails, HFW FB page, and front gate messages on a sandwich board for different events.
